We are marching

"We marched for a free South Africa and we march for a real deal here in Copenhagen"

These words come from archbishop Desmond Tutu. He knows that marching will lead to results. And he knows that once we begin marching, there is no stopping until the results are reached. With banners reminding politicians that, "there is no planet B", and "Nature is not negotiable", the crew from the YWCA-YMCA marched for several hours in the blistering cold Copenhagen, along with 100 000 other fellow activist. Upon reaching Bella Forum, the place where the negotiations are being held, it was wonderful to hear these words from the archbishop that shows that the march is not in vein.

Most of us representing the YWCA-YMCA will leave Copenhagen today. We are humble in the light of the big processes happening around us, but we are also aware that we have made an impact, together with other youths, delivered the message that a real deal must be reached at Copenhagen this year.

This part of Y Climate Action may be nearing its conclusion but it is also clear that the movement for climate justice in the YWCA-YMCA movement, not only in Sweden but around the world, has only just begun.

The march goes on.
